About Caroline Gyles
“Ultimately health cannot be found in a pill. Only by understanding that the choices you make every day - through what you eat, how you move and how you live - can you be truly healthy.”
My Journey
I am married with 2 teenage kids and a qualified Naturopathic Health Coach.
In my previous life I worked in a busy corporate role travelling all around the world, but once kids came along we found two busy, travelling parents was unsustainable. Since then, I have done various things from volunteering, office work, and soft furnishings. It was not until I experienced my own health problems and those of my parents that I decided to retrain as a health coach to help others navigate the tough waters of what life can throw at you.
Six years ago, my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. We supported him through aggressive chemo and multiple radiation treatments which left him just a shadow of his former self. Sadly we lost him subsequently to covid as his body just couldn't cope with anything else. During this time my mum was then also diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer which heartbreakingly was caught too late for treatment, and we lost her just 9 weeks after the diagnosis. Neither of my parents were given any useful lifestyle or nutrition advice to support them and some of the advice given was quite frankly shocking.
Unbeknownst to me during this time I was starting to experience perimenopausal symptoms exacerbated by stress, lack of sleep, emotion and juggling sick parents at the same time as homeschooling 2 young teenagers during covid. Various symptoms included digestive issues, UTIs, debilitating migraines, anxiety, aches, pains and tinnitus to name just a few.
Fast forward 4 years and trying various natural treatments and HRT, I am still navigating these ever-changing waters. I now understand much more about my body, the nutrition and exercise I need and the importance of sleep, stress management and self-care.
Retraining as a health coach felt like a light had been turned on. It made complete sense to me that how you use your body, what you put into it, what you put onto it makes a huge difference in your overall wellbeing and health.
My Philosophy
I believe we can all achieve good health, even in a busy, demanding world.
But to do that, we need to slow down, learn how to listen to our bodies, and give them the nourishment and support they need to thrive. Health isn't about doing more; it's about doing what's right for you.
No Extremes. No Fads. No Guilt.
